After more than a dozen Spring Breaks on Padre Island we decided to diversify our vacations. After doing the Atlantic and the Carribean, the Pacific beckoned. So we took a whirlwind trip to Capistrano Beach, California for our 2006 escape. This gave us the opportunity to share a vacation with Erin and to update our knowledge of Disneyland and California Adventure.
We got a chance to relax in the sun, play water sports, ride bikes, explore the Pacific tidepools and close out the evenings with bonfires on the beach. Jordy & Tessa were outdoors from morning to night playing on the beach, communicating with the seals or 'painting the town red' at Disney from gate opening until fireworks.
Just like on Padre Island, we enjoying Capistrano's sunsets. We missed the margaritas and the tasty shrimp, but discovered Jordy's favorite Mexican Restaurant nearby and sampled the Chimichangas. Our Beach House was absolutely right on the sandy Pacific beach and we had a view of San Clemente and Dana Point with Santa Catalina visible on the horizon. It was a great time for us sun-starved Minnesotans and even Erin, the California Native, enjoyed the chance to get a little sand between the toes!!
